How many times have you been away from internet access and needed it? Did your smartphone work? It did? GREAT! That's what we need for this. When you are done reading this blog, slip over to JuneFabrics and get PDANet. This is a nifty little app for iPhone, Android and Blackberry phones to allow you to use the data plan for your phone for internet access. Keep a cable for connecting your phone to your notebook in your computer bag and you are all set. It also is a good idea to put copies of the client software that you will need for various computer types and store them on your phone so that you can use the phone as a USB drive and plug in to your or any PC that you need internet access on. On a 3G phone, it is pretty fast. I can imagine that on a 4G, it has to be great.
I am writing this blog entry sitting in a location where I do not have 802.11 wireless access, but I do have cell service. I am hooked up to my phone with PDANet and getting internet access.
